VEX
Below are some examples of things I have built using the VEX Robotic Platform.
VEX EDR Tank.
This was my first experiment using ROS (Robotic Operating System) The idea was to make a self-driving tank using VEX EDR as the building platform, ROS for software, and a Lidar sensor.

Once the mapping was working, I then mounted it to a larger VEX platform
VEX EDR Humanoid
So the aim of this project was to learn more about the maths of robotics. I had to code everything for this robot in C so that given an XYZ in space, the robot could work out how to move its arms to reach that object. A lot of trigonometry was used!

VEX IQ Bluetooth Robots
While VEX IQ was being developed, I was asked to test out and build a robot(s) that would use their new BLE dongle. As a mobile developer at the time, I jumped at the chance and built these 2 cute little robots that are working together via 1 iPad at VEX World in the US.
VEX IQ Inmoov Head
At a similar time as the IQ stuff coming out, I had started building the Inmoov robot, well bits of it. I wanted to see if I could get it to work with LEGO and VEX as it could be good to inspire kids. Show them that they are not just limited to the parts in the box, but anything they can think of. This model also appeared at the UK VEX Championships
VEX IQ Skateboard
When I built something in LEGO, I generally tried to build it in VEX to, and vice versa. I found this a great way to show the pros and cons of both amazing platforms. One of the more challenging builds was to build a working Bluetooth-enabled electric skateboard out of VEX IQ for the New York Maker Show. This was one of the most amazing events I have ever been to.
